Antique Philco Refrigerator

Philco was a leader in style and innovation when it came to their line of refrigerators. Thousands are still left running today 60 years after they were first plugged in, a true testament to real quality. Go back to the days of decades gone by - products were built to last and actually made in America. Everything had style, including your basic kitchen appliances. The refrigerators were covered in chrome accents and styles changed nearly every year - just like the cars of the era. Today these lost relics are treasured for their style and proven durability and have become a collectible in their own right with the gaining popularity of retro styles and vintage kitchens. If you have a classic home that has been lovingly restored you need to top off the restoration with the appropriate classic fridge, right? Who wants to walk into a vintage kitchen and see another run-of-the-mill plain box that the current refrigerators are. Sure, modern refrigerators may be more convenient but they will NEVER match the impact that owning a classic Philco brings. via Philco Refrigerators

Antique frame with signed and numbered magnolia leaf print by artist Peggy Abrams

Peggy Abrams is an American artist who was born and bred in a small family community in Michigan. She created many art pieces that made her famous among reputable arts collectors and buyers. Her artworks cover a wide array of subjects, including teddy bears, botanicals, Old World Santas among others. Peggy started sketching things at an early age; her mom said Peggy started as soon as she could hold a pencil in her hand until she became a teenage girl. While in teen years, she started oil painting. Unlike several other artists who don’t get the full support of their parents, Peggy received a lot of support from her mother who bought her all the necessary materials for her sketching work and painting work. Peggy got her inspiration from the things around her or those she saw in books such as old fashioned dolls, stylish Victorian era, large hats and more. She started painting professionally when she was around 51 or 52 years of age.

Peggy’s Victorian Santas, banquettes and gardening images are some of her art pieces that have made her quite famous. She is also known to provide her artwork in excellent quality. Out of her good heart, Peggy does a lot of philanthropic acts, donating original artwork to organizations that help children. Her career took a more lucrative turn in 1990 when she got a contract with Bentley Publishing Group. She did a lot of creative works for the group, earning her fame nationally. Her Christmas line of prints that she released in 1994 made her become a renowned figure in the published world of art. via Fulcrum Gallery

antique defination.JPG

Antique refers to anything old, but it also refers to the rarity or beauty of an item from the past. Such items display an exceptional level of craftsmanship. Generally an antique is defined as an object that is over 100 years old, but there are exceptions. The word is often applied to objects that are younger than this depending on what they are. For example a car can be considered to be antique when it is 50 years old.  An electronic gadget can be an antique after only 20 or 30 years. One easy way to determine if an object is an antique is that if it is 75 years old, then it is antique. via Antique vs. Vintage – The Difference Between
